It has again become time for us to ensure that we tell our own stories. We have been reading so much nonsense that is made available to the general population about hip hop and what it is about, that we felt it is again time to set the record straight. In doing so, we have sparked the interest of people in Sweden who also wish to contribute to the next issue of Da Juice. They liked the story so much that they are willing to write half about what is happening in Sweden and then fund that part of the magazine so that more issues are released.

HISTORY

In 1993, Emile Jansen saw that local media did not cover the youth in the townships of the Western Cape and decided to start a magazine that would do just that. He released the first issue of Da Juice in 1993 and have since released 13 issues whenever money was available. In 2003 we also released a graff magazine for writer MAK 1 called Stylestudie.
